How To Reset Air Conditioner?

Often times when our electric appliances are not working, we reboot them. We hope that restarting will bring the machine back to working. However, before making a phone call to a servicing professional and giving out your hard-earned money for a minor problem, it’s wise to locate the reset button on your air conditioner, and see if resetting remedies the situation. These reset buttons are present in all AC units. They are pressed to clear off minor mechanical problems. You will be amazed to know that these buttons work out wonders by bringing the AC back to functioning mode.

If you want to reset your AC, then begin it by unplugging the machine from the electrical outlet. Do not plug it on immediately. Wait for 10 to 15 seconds and put the plug back to the outlet. Now find the reset button. Although tiny it will be visible. Press it, and see if your air conditioner starts working. If it does not, press it once again. If still you do not see any reaction then you should try to shut down the main circuit breaker that powers your home and then put it on once again. In the meantime keep your fingers crossed, hoping that it will work.

To do it, keep your AC plugged into the power panel. Locate the circuit breaker that controls the electrical outlet to which your AC is plugged. Turn it off. Wait for 5 to 10 seconds. Turn the circuit breaker back to ON. Check if the AC is working now. If it is still not functioning, repeat this step once gain. If you still do not have luck then you are left with the last option- calling an AC technician.
